I was away for Christmas and without the internet, so I couldn’t wish all my blog readers a very merry christmas.

Anyway, I hope you had a great day wherever and whoever you were with.

I went to visit my in-laws near Manchester. It’s always nice to visit them, I am blessed with a lovely bunch of in-laws. (Lovely husband = lovely in-laws!)

I always love going north where the Victorian period is very obvious in the architechture of the mills. As we get to the M60 I’m always looking out the window for any mills. Most are now used for storage or offices and many have been converted into houses.

Anyway, I spent a lot of time shopping Toys R Us and Borders at Stockport -where there is a fabulous Victorian mill next to a Tesco Extra (talk about Chalk and Cheese!). Anyway, my husband had to drag me out of Borders in the end! I do love the Romance section, and the vastness of the shop. I also love taking a stack of books up to the Starbucks and browsing through them as I drink my skinny Latte.

Santa was very kind to me and dropped through my chimney a few books: Twilight by Stephanie Meyers, Comedy Writing Secrets by Mel Helitzer and The Daily Writer by Fred White.

My good friend, Juliet Archer has her first novel out today (Monday 15th Dec 2008) called “The Importance of being Emma”. I’m thrilled for her and as I got to read the novel before anyone else, I can tell you it’s a brilliant read.

Her novel is a modern re-telling of the classic Jane Austen novel “Emma”. It brings it right up to date, but without sacrificing the great story and humour that Jane Austen originally wrote.

So grab yourself a copy or ebook now here.

Well I’m sorry to say I didn’t do too well with National Novel Writing Month. Things started off well, but with the release of my first novel very shortly I got tied up with finalising that. I’ve also been ill with a really nasty cold….I know I know, excuses excuses!!

Well I hope I can do better soon!
