Poor Dan Brown. Not only does he get law suits saying he snitched someone else’s idea’s but he gets slammed for his writing.

I’ve not read any of his books, but he sells by the truck load so he’s doing something right!

Here is an article picking holes in his sentence structure:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/6194031/The-Lost-Symbol-and-The-Da-Vinci-Code-author-Dan-Browns-20-worst-sentences.html

Yes he breaks some of the rules of writing, but in the end, does it matter? People enjoy his books, to me that’s all that matters isn’t it?

I found this interesting article on the Daily Mail website about the Queen Mother:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1214573/The-Queen-Mother-That-spiteful-old-soak-dedicated-making-lives-hell.html

Whether or not you believe what the article says is up to you. However, it does make some very interesting points about social attitudes of the aristocracy and royalty and the pressures they were under, especially in the past.

It also shows that even when you are rich, you may not have to worry about enough food or money, but you are subject to different pressures:

1) You may in love with someone other than your husband
2) You may have family members with disabilities who you deny exist (to us now, this may seem cruel and very un-PC but in the past, this was what happened)
3) A family member marries beneath them and you ignore and shun them
4) Behind closed doors you have a violent temper, and are argumentative and mean. You also have an addiction to alcohol or other substances. In public you are gracious and thoughtful and appear generous and kind.

All this is great material for a novel!!

I am a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and it’s their 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate it, they have released an anthology of short stories - love stories of course.

I have my copy already and have read a few. They are all delightful and well worth getting. You can dip in and discover new and well known authors.

My particular favourite so far was by Nicola Cornick.

I must apologise for not blogging for quite some time. I think some of you know that I have been busy with my family. However, I’m back and ready to blog!

First off, I hope you like the new look website. I love it.

Still pink, but not quite so pink….

I have quite a few things to blog about starting tomorrow…
